Case Background
We defended Sharayah and her friends in 3 separate defamation cases. The plaintiff was Sharayah’s former partner and an abuser, Dwayne Lucious. He successfully obtained a default judgement against Sharayah and was in the process of getting them against her friend and mother. We set aside the default and successfully defended each case.

The Outcome
✅ All cases dismissed within 10 months after we appeared.
✅ The abuser could not file future lawsuits without court approval.
Our Comments
Abusers do not let their victims go without a fight. Unfortunately, the only way for victims to effectively deter their abusers from future conduct towards them is with the courts. Abusers make winning hard by lying and hiding evidence. Some trial courts just don’t get it, or don’t care and appeal is necessary. It’s important to have an attorney who knows how to navigate through this.
